President

Karen joined Smiths in April 2017 with the acquisition of Morpho Detection and became President of Smiths Interconnect in August 2017. Karen was previously President and Chief Executive Officer of Morpho Detection. Prior to this, Karen served as CEO of Labinal, COO of Zoltek, and CEO of Messier-Bugatti USA. She began her career at Northrop Corporation and subsequently at Hitco Carbon Composites.

Pennie joined Smiths in September 1997 supporting the Smiths global headquarters. She has held several leadership roles in the global HR function including VP HR roles for the Medical, Detection and now Interconnect Divisions as well as leading the Global HR Services organisation. Pennie began her career in the power generation industry and subsequently held roles at the Ford Motor Company and News International.

Paul joined  Smiths in June 2015 as the President of the Connectors Business Unit. He previously worked for HUBER+SUHNER AG where he held a variety of high profile positions including International COO and director of 18 group companies and was a member of the Executive Group Management. Prior to this, Paul spent 14 years covering various roles in Engineering, Sales and General Management for Amphenol.

Mark joined Smiths Interconnect in 2017, in April 2018 he was promoted to the position of Vice President, Global Operations.  He has responsibility for the Operational sites in China, Mexico, USA, Costa Rica, France, Germany, Italy, Tunisia & UK.

Previous to joining Smiths Interconnect,  Mark held a number of senior operational leadership roles within Smiths Medical having both multisite responsibility & led large scale transformational change programmes including Manufacturing & Distribution Centre site closures, manufacturing process transfers and the implementation of new engineered processes within Mexico, USA, China, Germany, Italy, UK & Czech Republic sites.  In 2013, Mark led the program to establish a new 10k sq. m Smiths Medical manufacturing facility within the Czech Republic.

Mark is a company appointed member trustee of the Smiths Group SIPS UK pension scheme.

Eric joined Smiths in October 2011 as Director of Corporate Development for Smiths Group, where he was responsible for strategy and M&A.  He became Interim CFO for Morpho Detection after its acquisition by Smiths Detection and subsequently appointed CFO for Smiths Interconnect in October 2017.  Prior to joining Smiths, Eric held various roles in industry, strategy consulting, banking and private equity.

Dave joined Smiths in July 2013 as President of TRAK Microwave and has since become President of Smiths Interconnect, Inc. (SII).  SII is the business entity within Smiths Interconnect that performs on classified contracts for the U.S. DoD hence operates as a separate entity governed by a Special Security Agreement (SSA).  Prior to Smiths, Dave held various executive and technical leadership roles at Cobham, Hexcel Corporation, Pratt Whitney and others.

Nicole joined Smiths in 2011 as Smith Interconnect’s Director of Trade Compliance and Senior Counsel.  She became Associate General Counsel in 2013 and stepped up as Interim Divisional General Counsel from January 2014 to August 2015, after which continued to support the division as Associate General Counsel - Americas.  She was appointed Divisional General Counsel in June 2019.

Prior to joining Smiths, Nicole was a litigator and international trade lawyer at Crowell & Moring LLP in Washington, DC.

Rob joined Smiths in 2005 as a radio frequency design engineer and became Vice President of Research, Development & Technology in August 2016.  Rob was previously VP Sales & Marketing of EMC Technology/Florida RF Labs and President of the Microwave Components Business Unit.  He began his career at JDS Uniphase and subsequently was the owner a regional indirect sales channel.
