Features & Benefits

Smiths Interconnect's Model 8461 NTP server (Stratum 1) is designed for time synchronizing networks using IRIG-B as the time reference. This product accepts a fiber optic or wireline IRIG-B time code and provides NTP to users on the network. The fiber optic time code input is often used for tempest isolation between networks and meets the security guidelines that regulate the separation requirements between Black and Red (SIPRNET and NIPRNET) networks. The 8461 can be powered from and external AC/DC power supply or from a Power over Ethernet (PoE) capable switch.

Remote configuration and monitoring is available through Ethernet and RS-232. Ethernet configuration is provided through HTML web interface and remote monitoring through SNMP with an enterprise MIB as well as through Telnet or SSH using the Command Line interface. The RS-232 configuration monitoring and control is provided through Command Line Interface. Contact our product experts to discuss your specific system requirements and custom configurations to meet your needs.
