Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive treatment for depression that uses a highly focused, pulsed magnetic field to stimulate function in targeted regions of the brain. The manufacturer of this FDA approved device needed a hybrid signal/power connector which was easier to mate with higher mating cycle life than the threaded mating cable connector they were currently using to connect the therapy head to the system.

Solution: HyperGrip​

The design of the HyperGrip® connector (HG series) was ideal for the customer’s requirements when Hypergrip with Hyperboloidfitted with custom hybrid inserts. The push-pull mating action provided simpler operation in a clinical setting that the previous threaded connector used, and the Hypertac® contact system assures the minimum of 1000 mating cycles needed over the life of the product. Additionally the “medical look” of HyperGrip, which is highly visible in this application, coordinated well with the design of the customer’s medical system.
