We are proud to have been selected as finalists at the 2025 Elektra awards with two connectivity products that will run in the Passive/Interconnection/Electromechanical Product of the Year category.
Here is a bit more about our products:

The new Cat5e and Cat6A data transmission modules in accordance with IEEE 802.3 combine the proven technical characteristics of the hyperboloid contact with the use of high-quality and compliant insulator material - i.e. the polycarbonate family - to offer industry compliance and high performance. The electrical performance of these modules is optimised through low insertion loss, controlled impedance, and high return loss characteristics. These factorscontribute to efficient signal transmission with minimal attenuation and reflection, reducing data errors and ensuring high-speed communication. Also, the use of high-quality conductors and advanced shielding techniques enhances resistance to electromagnetic interference.
Smiths Interconnect’s modular and mini-modular connectors are easy to assemble, based on the principle of building blocks with a system composed of two elements: modules and frames. Also, our connectors are engineered for an extended number of mating cycles (up to 100,000), using high-quality contact materials and advanced surface treatments that resist wear, oxidation, and contact degradation.
The Mini-lock connector is a cutting-edge product that enables faster and more reliable connectivity across a range of mission critical industry sectors and applications. A connector is a crucial component for transmitting radio frequency signals and therefore, enabling reliable connectivity.

The Mini-lock connector enables extremely high frequency operation at a signal of up to 110 GHz – one of the highest frequency components on the market currently. This leads to more reliability, faster speed and lower downtime.
The technology has been developed to integrate into crucial applications such as satellites, space flight, radars, unmanned vehicles, military and other applications that require reliable communications with low-to-no downtime. This is important because advances made in these areas will ultimately translate into ever faster and more reliable global connectivity for society. A key feature of the patent pending product is an innovative ‘robust locking mechanism’ that creates a more reliable connection and a better transfer of data and information download between connected applications. The Mini-lock connector is designed and built to operate in high stress environments, including extreme vibrating and shock conditions, such as in outer space. It is compact, lightweight, highly reliable and can also function in extreme temperatures ranging from -65 °C to +165 °C.
We look forward to celebrating the winners at the final ceremony on Tuesday 9 December 2025!
