Our fixed and mobile positioning systems featuring TECOM technology are used in range telemetry, flight termination, airborne and ground datalink, target tracking and jamming, signal intelligence, and direction finding applications. Positioning systems range from man-portable to 7 meter installations. Both positioning/controlling systems and turnkey solutions are available with reflector and feed assemblies reaching 0.5 to 325 GHz. With all positioners designed to meet environmental MIL-STD requirements, developing complete solutions for harsh conditions has become one of our core capabilities.
We foster a Culture of Quality to be the best at what we do ... Quality, it is all about the Customer.
In-house capabilities encompass design, development, manufacturing and testing. Providing operational excellence tailored to volume manufacturing requirements, global sourcing, world class engineering talent and rapid prototyping.
MMA-RX utilizes a three aperture design providing Quad band Data receive bandwidth in a single unit. The system features upgraded high efficiency apertures providing short to medium range link capability. The desired aperture is user selectable On-The-Fly through a flexible software interface, providing L/S, or C, or Ku Band capability within 3 seconds.
Tactical Datalink Communications for Fixed Ground and On-the-Move Applications. The GDT antenna assembly consists of a positioner, controller, and parabolic feed assemblies that provide the critical command, control, and sensor connectivity of the TUAV to the ground control station.
Ground Data Terminal, TCDL antenna system operates from 14.4 – 15.35 GHz in Ku-Band. The antenna system is currently fielded, operationally proven and qualified for TUAV’s. The antenna system includes a 4-foot reflector, Ku-Band feed, antenna positioner with integrated servo and control systems electronics, and tripod assembly. Transit cases can also be supplied to protect these assemblies while in transit to the operations site Smith Interconnect’s microprocessor-based Antenna Control Unit (ACU) is designed to provide cost-effective control of the antenna positioner assembly. The integrated controller can operate over an RS-232, RS-485, Ethernet or Fiber Optic interface.
Smiths core capability in positioners not only supports mission-critical programs, but brings front-line visibility to tactical command centers.
Smiths Interconnect is a leading provider of technically differentiated electronic components, subsystems, microwave and radio frequency products that connect, protect and control critical applications in the commercial aviation, defense, space, medical, rail, semiconductor test, wireless telecommunications, and industrial markets.
