Balanced Mixer (MXP)

Balanced Mixer (MXP)

Series MXP balanced mixers featuring Millitech technology are high performance broadband mixers offered in compact and low weight configurations. The series MXP cover frequencies from 26.5 to 140 GHz in seven waveguide bands, feature LO agility (swept LO) and extremely broadband IF. MXP single-balanced mixers use GaAs Schottky Barrier Diodes and can operate with relatively low local oscillator power, generally 13 to 15 dBm. Addition product features include low conversion loss and low noise figure over a wide range of IF and local oscillator frequencies. Special designs with LO input waveguide in a higher or lower waveguide band can be provided.

General Purpose Detector (DET)

General Purpose Detector (DET)

DET detectors featuring Millitech technology are designed to provide class leading sensitivity and full waveguide bandwidth performance simultaneously without external DC bias or adjustments. These detectors offer flat frequency responses over ten waveguide bands ranging from 18 to 325 GHz. Series DET detector response is linear for power levels below -10 dBm. Series DET detectors are directly compatible with typical scalar analyzers including models manufactured by Agilent and Anritsu. Designs with custom electrical or mechanical specifications are also available.

Single-Pole Double-Throw PIN Switch (PDT)

PDT PIN diode switches featuring Millitech technology is available in seven waveguide bands from 18 to 100 GHz and in either Y or I configurations. All switches are offered with integrated drivers, and can be operated with a standard TTL input. Series Switches are also offered in PSP single-pole, single-throw (SPST) switches and series PSH high speed switches series PS3 (SP3T) and PS4 (SP4T) models.

The series AMC line of active multipliers featuring Millitech technology extends the range of sources from 7.5 to 20 GHz coaxial to the complete millimeter-wave spectrum from 26 to 140 GHz.

Switched Filter Banks

Switched Filter Banks

Switched Filter Banks typically include multiple filter topologies, including PIN diode and MMIC switch sub-circuits to achieve operational bandwidths of greater than 3 octaves. Pin Diode Based Switched Filter Banks provide the highest level of signal isolation, higher operating power levels, and lower insertion loss and achieve switching speeds of < 40 nanoseconds. GaAs MMIC Based Switched Filter Banks provide switching times as low as 10 nanoseconds with very low power consumption and have the inherent advantage of supporting multi-octave frequency bands with extremely low power consumption.

Offering synthesizer architectures supporting operating frequencies from 0.1 to 40 GHz. Our direct analog and digital designs feature fast switching speed of less than 100 nanoseconds and ultra-low phase noise. Our wideband indirect synthesizer designs support your requirements for smaller size and lower power consumption and offer typical switching speed of less than 500 microseconds. Composite architecture designs (Direct and Indirect Synthesis) are also available to optimize phase noise, switching speed, size and power consumption. 

Up/Down Frequency Converters

Up/Down Frequency Converters

Smith Interconnect's frequency converters provide frequency translation of the input signal to a desired output frequency. They support up and down frequency translations with either fixed local oscillators (block converters), or tunable local oscillators (agile converters). Low Noise Amplifiers (Series LNA)

Series LNA low noise amplifiers featuring Millitech technology utilize advanced PHEMT MMICs and transistors for state-of-the-art low noise performance in the 18 to 120 GHz frequency range. The standard amplifier interfaces include coaxial connectors of 2.92 mm (0 to 40 GHz), 2.4 mm (0 to 50 GHz), and 1.85 mm (0 to 65 GHz), as well as waveguide interfaces ranging from WR-42 to WR-10. Standard products offer excellent gain performance for most applications but multiple MMIC amplifier chips can be combined or cascaded for applications that require higher gain or greater output power.
