SpaceNXT™ Ku Series

The SpaceNXT™ Ku-Band High Power family of passive waveguide components are part of Smiths Interconnect’s overarching initiative to create a broad range of readily accessible space qualified waveguide Isolators, Circulators, Terminations, transitions, Hybrids and couplers operating in assigned bands from X to V-Band specifically for space applications.

SpaceNXT™ MWC Series

The SpaceNXT™ MWC Series is a high reliable 2-way Ku-Band isolated splitter, specifically designed and tested for space applications from MEO/GEO satellites to deep space probes.

Waveguide Couplers and Splitters

Smiths Interconnect supplies waveguide directional and non-directional couplers, combiners, and splitters for a variety of space, defense, and air defense radar applications. These devices operate in assigned bands and can be supplied as components or as passive systems integrated with other passive components.

MW Isolators & Circulators

Smiths Interconnect offers a wide range of RF/Microwave isolators, circulators and iso-adapters supplied with stripline (drop-in), coaxial, microstrip, surface mount, waveguide and combination interfaces. Devices are available from UHF to E-Band and designed specifically for their intended application power handling and operating environment.

MW Transitions and Iso-adapters

Waveguide iso-adapters span from S to Ka-Band and include coaxial and waveguide isolators with transitions to waveguide and integrated assemblies including filtering and waveguide windows. Lowest mass waveguide iso-adapter solutions are normally realised by integrating a coaxial isolator with a waveguide transition while waveguide isolators integrated with coaxial transition generally offer a superior electrical performance.

MW Waveguide Loads

Smiths Interconnect supplies waveguide loads and terminations for a variety of applications and environments including medical, space, defense, and commercial applications and are generally available from L to E-Band optimized to handle an appropriate amount of RF power. These devices complement our other range of ferrite circulators and are routinely supplied integrated into our comprehensive range of ferrite isolators.

MW Waveguide to Coaxial Transitions

Smiths Interconnect offers a wide range of transitions and iso-adapters (a transition integrated with either a coaxial or waveguide isolator. Devices are available from S to E-Band and designed specifically for their intended application power handling and operating environment.


Thermopad® products are a totally passive, easy to implement solution for gain compensation designed specifically for demanding high reliability applications. 

Diamond RF Resistives®

The highest power to size ratio resistive products utilizing CVD Diamond, the best thermal conductor available. Diamond by EMC Technology brand, is the best thermal conductor on earth.

Surface Mount Outrigger Resistors and Terminations

CXH series of Surface Mount Chip Resistors and Terminations feature Smiths Interconnect’s patented outrigger resistor technology to offer improved power handling over conventional resistors without compromising broadband performance. The power increase from the patented design allows to dissipate significantly more power through the extra thermal paths (approximately 50% more than conventional surface mount solutions).

Surface Mount Chip Equalizers

The CEX series platform is an easy to implement surface mount solution for gain (or attenuation) variation over frequency. Various configuration options including frequency band, slope direction and slope magnitude are available to support various application demands.

Fixed Attenuators - Small Signal

Our attenuators are available in a low power chip package as well as a 0.250 sq high power BeO package. The input power ratings range from 0.1 to 120 watts. The attenuation values range from 0 dB to 20 dB with 30 dB available on some devices. The terminals of our chip attenuators are made with thick or thin film material. Smith Interconnect is the world leader in fixed attenuators from DC through Q band. 

Hi-Rel Components

We offer a line of fixed attenuators in a high-reliability S-level common platform for space, military, and aerospace designs. The standard parts eliminate the need for costly and time-consuming drawings and specifications meeting the specification and testing requirements of MIL-PRF-55342. 

SpaceNXT™ HC Series

SpaceNXT™ HC Series offers a selection of high reliability temperature variable attenuators for next generation commercial space applications.

Resistors and Terminations

Low and high power RF resistors and terminations including surface mount chips, tab & cover chips, flange mounted and rod types. These resistors are available with Alumina, ALN, BeO and CVD substrate materials. The  CTX Series of high frequency wire bondable chip terminations, HR-CTX Series of high frequency high reliability wire bondable chip terminations and CTX SMT Series of high frequency surface mount chip terminations are optimized to combine high frequency, and power in a small package

Fixed Attenuators - High Power

We are the world leader in fixed attenuators from DC through Q band. Fixed attenuators are available in 0.1 to 400 W versions, covering DC to 50 GHz applications and offered in 0 to 30dB values. Our attenuators are available in several package styles.

Signal Distribution

Smiths Interconnect offers a wide array of products to support signal distribution applications up to 50 GHz. They are surface mountable for ease of installation, have a small footprint, and are RoHS compliant.

Film Cards

Smiths Interconnects 73 series High Frequency Film Cards are designed to offer accurate and repeatable dissipation of low Radio Frequency power signals. We offer a complete line of standard and custom wave-guide attenuator elements. Deposition of thin film metallization on a specific substrate with an optical grade finish produces an extremely stable resistive film. A protective coating is evaporated over the resistive film to prevent oxidation. Controlled processes throughout production ensure repeatability.

Filter Select Plus

Smiths Interconnect filters are available to suit a wide range of applications in the military, commercial and aerospace fields. For more information, please see the notes for each filter topology.Superior performance is achieved through the use of high "Q" components and computer modeling.

Planar X Filter Series

Planar X Series of standard RF filters provide system engineers with high performance, compact, light-weight solutions for critical RF filtering in X-band, Ku-band, and Ka bands. Planar X Series compliments Smiths Interconnect’s broad portfolio of RF/Microwave components with an off-the-shelf product reducing the lead times of custom designs.

Cavity Filters

Cavity filter designs are available in the frequency range of 30 MHz to 51 GHz and with bandwidth options from less than 0.5% to over 66%. Cavity filters offer the user very low insertion loss, steep skirt selectivity, and narrower bandwidths than discrete component filters. Smiths Interconnect’s waveguide filters provide low-loss solutions for high power applications.  Waveguide filter operating frequency ranges from 1 to 100 GHz and can be offered with temperature stable materials.

Ceramic Filters

Ceramic Filters are manufactured in two basic styles for both commercial and military applications. The high-volume, cost-effective units in open frame, non-hermetic packages are most often used in commercial applications. The lower volume, custom designed hermetic packages find wide usages in military applications. Both styles are available from UHF to C-band and in various mounting configurations. In both instances the same high “Q” coaxial resonators are used which yield low insertion loss and excellent stability over temperature. A low ripple Chebyshev transfer function is standard with bandpass filters, notch filters and diplexer available.

Discrete Filters

Miniature discrete component filters are available from HF to X-band and are designed to give optimal performance where small size is critical. Electrical and mechanical requirements for each design are computer-generated, taking into consideration realizable “Q” and environmental conditions, then analyzed using our unique software, thereby reducing the amount of trial-and-error alignment.

RF Filters and Diplexers

Series of discrete lumped element filters and diplexers with standard “off the shelf” packaging utilizing the same internal components, circuit topologies and transfer functions found in Lorch filter products manufactured for military and space applications. Standard units are an ideal choice when hermetic sealed packages are not a requirement and when lower cost and quick delivery are essential.

RF Tunable Filters

Tunable filter products are available from HF to S-band and are designed to provide high performance in a single package. While typically used in test and measurement applications, these products can also be ruggedized for mobile and remote applications.
